1) There must be multiple hull breaches
2) These creatures sure don't waste any time invading the ship. Most things would stay away from a crashed ship.
Maybe about 15 minutes till they determine nothing else came down. Usually large impacts will attract scavengers as there will be a sudden increase of the amount of available food generated by the impact on the local wild life. then the things that feed on suddenly fat scavengers move in and so on...

If she is in a Janitorial closet there might be a box of assorted tools so someone can fix the occasional broken light switch or swap out a control panel. there might even be something to Jerry Rig the foot of slightly broken robot. ...
